The Lodge
As proud as we are to provide world-class steelhead fishing, we are equally proud to offer our guests a luxurious and unforgettable Alaska fishing lodge experience. The lodge and its guest cabins are situated on the best run of our most prized steelhead river, offering convenient and private boat access for drift boats and power drifters, ensuring guests can reach prime fishing waters with ease. We own on a substantial amount of acreage on both sides of the river for guests to enjoy for fishing and streamside lunches. The views of the river are absolutely breathtaking, morning, day, and night. There’s nothing better than closing an incredible day of Steelhead fishing by pondering the days events while a spectacular steelhead river flows by your doorstep. Whether you are enjoying one of the many outdoor living areas or in the comfort of the lodge or cabin, it’s the perfect setting to trade stories and pictures after fishing.
Our Main Lodge is designed to provide both comfort and entertainment, featuring a Lounge, Bar, Dining Room for 14 guests, Theatre Room, and Game Room complete with a pool table. For a bit of relaxation guests enjoy a soak in the hot tub while over looking the river. The outdoor fireplace or the riverside fire pit are popular places for guests to relax and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks before dinner.
Each room in the lodge is thoughtfully appointed with all the comforts of home and can be double or even single occupancy upon request and availability. We also offer 3 guest cabins, two of which are single or double occupancy and large cabin for bigger groups of 4-6 anglers. Both the lodge, large cabin for private groups and smaller private cabins are complete with indoor fireplaces, a fully stocked bar refreshed daily, and a deck with outdoor seating to soak in the incredible views. The lodge and guest cabins are equipped with Wi-Fi and satellite TV. For your convenience, Laundry Service is available for $25 per load, so you are able to pack light and enjoy your favorite gear throughout your stay. Additionally, we offer the services of an on-site masseuse for the ultimate relaxation after fishing. For some added fun and entertainment we close out the week with a local band and farewell party with the entire ASC staff and guides to send you off.
No trip to Alaska is complete without unforgettable wildlife encounters, and at The lodge, you won’t be disappointed. It’s not uncommon to see moose wandering the property or even swimming across the river, bald eagles soaring by or the occasional lynx. For the more adventurous guests willing to stay up late, the famous Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, occasionally paints the sky in dazzling displays during this time of year.
The Meals
Meals are very important to us at The Alaska Steelhead Company. Chef Felix Barron begins each day well before sunrise by preparing good, strong coffee and a hearty breakfast buffet. Anglers enjoy a custom shore lunch consisting of soup and sandwich, as well as plenty of snacks and drinks to keep you going. On the colder days, guides prepare coffee, hot cider and hot chocolate on the boats as well. Feel free to bring a flask as well…you’ve got to love a hot cider with a little splash of whiskey to warm you up if you’re into that.
Expect the dinners to be some of the best meals you have ever eaten. Guests are blown away every evening after enjoying their 3 course meal and wine pairing. We source fresh and local ingredients, consisting of halibut, salmon, king crab, scallops, sushi, clams, oysters, caribou, and beef, just to name “a few”. We spare no expense on the finest Alaskan fare there is to offer for our customers. Chef Felix is always more than happy to accommodate any and all dietary needs or even just a request for a specific craving.
